Seminar for Architectural company "Vorobiev and partners"

On the 26th of September 2014 we held seminar with the topic "Anodized aluminum in modern architecture" for architectural company "Vorobiev and partners."

Currently we anodize the front of the multifunctional complex "Sokol" in Minsk, which includes the Marriott hotel 5* and the sports center.

This project is financed by the Armed Forces of the State of Qatar.

Daring large-scale project of "Vorobiev and partners" harmoniously matched urban landscape.

The facade of the building is made from stained-glass windows and anodized aluminum perforated panels.

Bright, shining and sparkling in the sunlight anodizing cannot but attract the attention of citizens and guests.

The latest developments of the chemical industry of Germany and Switzerland which became available in Belarus were shown on the seminar.

The technology of colour anodizing SANDALOR™, digital anodizing DigitELOX™ were already achieved on our factory in Logoysk.

Technology of digital anodizing DigitELOX™

During the exhibition BUDPRAGRES 2014 we were asked to give more information about our new technology DigitELOX™, so we offer you to get acquainted with this review.

Combination of different methods of application of images produced with the help of technology of anodic oxidation was known long ago, but this technology was not widely spread. Technologies of metalprint and metalphoto were developed equally in the Soviet Union and in Western countries. In European countries and in the United States the most popular name of this technology was Metalphoto™ (registered trademark of Horizons Inc. in USA) or DuralPrint™ (registered trademark of Mantel Digital Swiss). In our country the most well known name is METALLOGRAFICS and this technology preceded our technology DigitELOX™.

It is supposed that this technology was invented in the 70's by our military scientists and it was used for manufacture of scales of devices, tags, labels, ID plates, serial numbers.

Engraving is competing technology for the same purposes. It is believed that the engraving is more reliable, because when it is applied the anodized layer is destroyed so it is more difficult to falsify of applying of coloring substances inside the pores of aluminum undergone a number of evolution changes. Printing by silk screen (serigraphy) is still considered the most convenient and cheapest method. However, this method has several disadvantages: the duration of preparation for printing, the inability (complexity) of applying of half-tones. Frequently this method was used for printing of vector images without gradient colors. Basically, all office door plates were produced by this method.

Furthermore, there is one more method - photomechanical printing. Anodized aluminum sheet with open pores are covered with photoresist or photosensitive layer, and after that image is transmitted on the sheet. Places which trap under illumination - remain, everything else is washed off, and open the pores are filled with dye. This method allows achieving very high accuracy.

The most modern method is the method of direct digital printing insight aluminum pores. On the market there are different proposals for the equipment: Epson inkjet printers of the cost ~ $ 5,000, Korean 15-25'000 $, German ~40-60'000 euros and Swiss ~ 100,000 euro. Advanced technology DigitELOX™ allows to apply images inside anodized aluminum with a higher resolution than Metallofoto technology. This technology allows you to create effect of "depth" because of deeper penetration of the coloring pigments and multiple coloring of each area.

And the most important thing is that the parts anodized by technology DigitELOX™ don't afraid sunlight (they are UV resistant), this allows using them outside, including for design, architecture and construction.

New technology of anodizing DigitELOX™ was developed by us together with Swiss company "Mantel Digital", with exclusive use of digital technology DuralPrint™ owned by company "Mantel Digital" Switzerland.

Today in the world, only a few firms own digital technology of anodizing. Thanks to our persistence, high creative potential, knowledge and patience of our staff and of course assistance of our colleagues from Switzerland this technology became available today not to only for small subjects for design and advertising, but also for architectural solutions.

Anodized aluminum in architecture

Anodized aluminum is one of the most modern and popular materials in architecture and if to compare it with alternative materials used in the decoration of facades it has number of indisputable advantages:

• lightness;
• nonflammability (flammability group NG);
• excellent corrosion resistance;
• resistance to UV-radiation;
• retention of shape and flatness;
• "anti-graffiti" (can be easily cleaned with solvents without damaging of the anodized layer);
• coating can not be separated from the base metal due to strong molecular binding between aluminum and anodized layer;
• life durability of the coating with proper care is not less than 20 years.

In addition modern technologies greatly expanded color scale of anodizing and this made considerable diversity in the architecture of modern cities.

Bright, shining and shimmering on the sunlight anodizing can not but attracts attention. Buildings with anodized facades look much more interesting than their surroundings.

Technology of color anodizing SANDALOR™

Technology of color architectural anodizing SANDALOR™ (Switzerland) was for the first time demonstrated by the company "KTM" on the exhibition "BUDPRAGRES 2014" in Minsk. This technology can significantly extend the application of color anodizing for needs of construction and architecture.

The main feature of the technology SANDALOR™ is that this method allows to protect anode coating from discolorment because of action of UV-radiation (sunlight).

Life durability of the coating SANDALOR™ is the same as for electrochemical anodizing and is about 20-30 years with coating thickness 20-25 microns. In order to achieve maximum life durability of the anodic covering it is necessary constantly to clean it from dust and contamination.

Made in Belarus - Approved in EU

We started new advertising campaign: "Made in Belarus - Approved in EU". With the help of this campaign we want to give our consumers information about our products. We seriously outwatch the quality of our products and recognition of the trademark "KTM "on the EU market is indirect confirmation of this.

Today our products are available in Slovakia, Czech Republic, Baltic countries, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and Serbia.

Also we lead negotiations about deliveries to Germany.

Sheets "KTM" with anodized layer made by technology " Digital anodizing™" are supplied to England, Israel, we lead negotiations with Switzerland, the Netherlands and the Arab Emirates.

Last Thursday on 31st of July 2014 significant event took place at the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce - signing of the agreement about representation of the interests of Slovak company «Celox» for a period of two years with the possibility of prolongation.

On the signing of this long-term contract about cooperation the first persons of the Slovak Embassy in Belarus were present: Head of the Embassy of Slovakia Mr. Ambassador Miroslav MOJZITA and the first secretary of the Embassy Mr. Erik LIPTAK.

In accordance with this agreement "KTM-2000" will represent the company Celox on the market of EurAsEC and the company Celox will represent the interests of the company "KTM-2000" on the EU market.

Until now we had no right to sell the products of the company Celox produced by our company on the Belarusian market. And that's why we signed this agreement which allows us to sell exclusive products of Celox on the Belarusian market and on the market of the Customs Union.

Intellectual property right for these products belongs to the company Celox. The contract stipulates the conditions under which we can do advertising, sale of products on the market not only of the Republic of Belarus, but also on the market of the post-Soviet countries.

Our Slovak partner the company Celox manufactures and sells on the EU market very similar to our products and has the index of the highest level of confidence in the European Union - AA. Only 5.8 % percent of companies in Slovakia have received such high financial evaluation.

Cooperation of Belarusian and Slovak producers of the profiles from aluminum alloys started 7 years ago. The last two of them KTM-2000 under the brand name of the Slovak partner ships to Eastern Europe systems of profiles for balconies and terraces. From the 1st of August, according to the signed contract products made in Belarus will be shipped to the European Union under double trademark CELOX-KTM, and to Russia, Kazakhstan, Moldova - KTM-CELOX. Slovaks shared with Belarusian partners their unique technology, which doesn’t have analogues on Belarusian market, the domestic company in its turn mastered the manufacturing of the products at the highest level.

JV "KTM-2000» exports its products to Russia, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Ukraine, Georgia, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Serbia, Slovakia, England and Israel. And with the help of the Slovak partner - in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Austria.

During this construction season our company has produced a number of new profiles for floor coverings.

Two broad aluminum profiles of the width 60 and 80 mm are produced in anodized and laminated variants.

Small inner corner has replaced the inner corner 2626. It has smaller dimensions 22x12 and is designed specifically for abutting of floor covering to door or window blocks. The profile allows you to hide expansion gap between floor covering and door or window. In this case this profile is assembled with the help of adhesive mounting to door or window units. Also this profile can be used instead of tiny floor molding.

In 2013 on demand of the company «Celox» our company launched the production of profile -drip mould KTM-259 «OKAP» for finishing of balconies, terraces and pedestals. Today this product is successfully sold in the countries of southern and south-western Europe (Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and Austria).

The range of the profiles from stainless steel for ceramic tiles and the profiles for expansion joints was expanded significantly.

Due to the flexibility of our production we can produce any product on the demand of our customers. We can apply anodic coatings of different thicknesses or different colors or shades which are not included in standard offer.

Also powder coating of extended scale RAL became available.

Swiss-Belarusian factory of the production of electric transport in Fanipol was launched in April of this year.

Our new development is the production of furniture fasteners produced from aluminum alloys. We have implemented a number of projects for production of furniture accessories for large furniture factories, during which we have produced handles, rails, and other details E2E, i.e. beginning from aluminum profile extrusion and finishing machining, final decoration and packaging.

During 2013 our company mastered anodizing details for optical instruments followed by colouring in black colour. Black colouring is carried out by chemicals of the leading German companies Chemetall and Alufinish. Surface of the details has deep matte black colour. This colouring allows achieving minimum reflective power. Details anodized in matt black colour are used in various optical instruments (binoculars, photographic equipment, night vision devices, thermal imagers, optical sights). The maximum sizes of details are 3.1 mx 1.2 m x 0.2 m.

We have developed and successfully realized anodizing of large heavy details with complex cross section and a large surface area. Complexity of anodizing of such details consists in secure fixation of the details on the brackets with minimal contact spots. New titanium racks used by us in 2013 assure safety of the details during immersion of them in the bath with aggressive chemicals and allow achieving high-quality leaching of rests of caustic soda from all possible hollows.
